Le bombole di aria funzionano attaccando l'acqua dal loro ambiente. Come sappiamo già dalla fisica di base, l'aria può assorbire più umidità a temperature più elevate che a temperature più basse. I motori aria usano questo a loro vantaggio, mentre l'aria si raffredda. L'aria raffreddata non può più contenere umidità e quindi lo lascia sotto forma di gocce d'acqua raccolte nel dispositivo.
